A Non-Knitting Post

I must be a really knitter if I'm posting pictures of my cat...

Now, I normally do not allow Fenway to sit on my coat because he leaves white fur all over it, but a.) it is my own fault for leaving it on the couch where it would make a perfect bed and b.) he is just too cute.

My Inner Linus

Meghan from the Stitch It! Podcast started a shawl knit-a-long on her Ravelry group. I've decided to make the Forest Canopy Shawl. This is the yarn that I'm using:

Yes, I know that the yarn was not in my stash photo from last week. This is Blue Sky Alpacas 100% Alpaca. It is soo soft and yummy to knit. This is what I have so far. It's 120 or so stitches. The pattern says to go to 199, but I think I'm going to make it larger. The color in the top photo (dark purple) is more accurate.

It's Getting Cold Outside

State of the Stash

Lots of inspiration there. My Ravelry queue keeps getting longer and longer. I'm also planning on buying some DK yarn this weekend for a Forest Canopy Shawl. Something about colder weather makes me want to start a lot of projects all at once.

Vacation Mitts

It's Fall Break, so I have a little (very little) free time to knit. I cast on for a couple of small projects. First up, fingerless mitts:

Comments: Kit from She-Knits' Etsy Shop. Fun little project. The yarn is nothing special, but pretty warm. I never really saw the point of fingerless knits before, but it sometimes gets cold in my apartment and I want something to keep my hands warm while still allowing me to hold a pen or type.

Socks, Sock, and Sox

Comments: Messed up the pattern around the ankle on both socks, but as this was my second pair of knee socks in a row, I did not care that much. This yarn is soooo soft. I know I am going to love wearing these in the winter.
