It fits this time, yay! I made a lot of progress on this during my no-work weekend (or no-work Saturday night and Sunday) last weekend. The actually color is a little bit more green. I hoping to finish it this weekend. It needs the skirt and the I-cord edging.

Bella's Hat
This is the end of the seemingly infinite supply of Malabrigo Chunk in Buscando Azul. Do not get me wrong- this yarn is fantastic. The color is beautiful and it is sooo soft. But I have made four projects with it and I think I'm done for awhile. The thing I love about this yarn is that it matches my Bella's Mittens perfectly.

Pattern: Bella's Hat by Holly Easley
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Chunky in Buscando Azul
Needle: size 8 circular
Date Started: May 4, 2010
Date Finished: May 5, 2010
Comments: I made some modifications to the pattern as per other Raveler's suggestions: 2" ribbing, an extra cable repeat, fewer rounds in the decrease section. It is a little pointy, so next time I would try to round out the top a little. This was a fast and enjoyable knit. How about a close up?

Ginny Socks
I've wanted to make this pattern forever. Knitted socks and Harry Potter, what can be better? It took me awhile to find the perfect yarn, but it was well worth the wait.

Pattern: Simply Ginny Socks by Anna Peck
Yarn: Knit it Up! Freckles in Ginger
Needle: size 1.5 circular
Date Started: April 16, 2010
Date Finished: May 4, 2010
Comments:This yarn is fantastic. The stitch definition is some of the best I've seen. No way I have that even of a tension, so I know that blocking made all the difference. It has a wonderful sheen too, without being too shiny. I highly recommend it. You can get Knit it Up! yarns at her etsy shop. I really enjoyed the pattern too. The cable added just enough interest while still pretty much keeping these in the "mindless" category. Wouldn't it be cute to downsize them for a little girl?

Come on Mother Nature
Stay sunny long enough for me to take some finished object photos. I've finished a pair of socks and a hat. By the time I get around to taking the photos, I think my Mythica will be half done.
So finals are over. Yay! I have a big project for my research job to work on today. Classes and my summer research are starting on Monday. Therefore, I designate Saturday and Sunday as Knitting and Reading Weekend (TM). I cannot wait. I am not doing any work or research. I suppose I'll have to clean my apartment, but other than that, I'm knitting, watching movies, listening to podcasts, and reading for pleasure all weekend. Too bad my best friend is out of town or else I'd go out to lunch with her and actually spend a leisurely time enjoying a nice chat while sitting at an outdoor cafe. Doesn't that sound like heaven?
