My Sunday

  • Coffee
  • Cats (they love that I am working on their table on the porch)
  • Reading
  • Highlighter- the ubiquitous tool of all graduate students. I think I am more likely to have one of those in my purse than I am to have my keys some days.

I Need To Take More Photos

I wanted to post a pretty picture, but I've taken a pitiful number this year, the vast majority of which are of my cats. I guess I should add that to my weekend to-do list. Not much going on here- just lots of homework, some work, and a very little bit of knitting and reading. I need to take some "after" photos and then I have a little crafty tutorial for you. Last weekend I went to visit Mr. DB. It was a nice little trip, although I could have done without the snow.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Still Plugging Away

Not much going on here. Just some random thoughts:
  • I bought some beautiful orange lilies (I forget their proper name) yesterday. Looking at them makes me so happy.
  • Too bad Fenway keeps drinking their water.
  • It is finally warm and sunny out. My blinds are all open.
  • Hurry up Spring!
  • Tons of homework this weekend.
  • But it is for a good cause- I am visiting Mr. DB soon.
  • That means I need to hurry up and finish his VDay scarf.
  • Which was supposed to be a Christmas scarf.
  • Sometimes I wish he was not so tall.
  • Why do contractions bother me so much, even in blog posts?
  • I am not quite sure how I feel about Valentines' Day. I have always hated it as a Hallmark holiday. You should express your feelings for your loved ones all the time, not just one day. Plus, I think it puts an unfair amount of pressure on the couple, often the boyfriend/husband.
  • Maybe I would be less indifferent if Mr. DB and I were spending the day together.
  • I got Fenway groomed on Monday. It cost a fortune, but no more matted fur. I think he feels better too.
  • Weasley is grooming Fenway right now- soo adorable!
  • I tried to take a picture, but they stopped when they saw me grab my iPhone.
  • I need more coffee, and breakfast.
  • No more procrastinating on my homework.
  • Have a good weekend!

2011 Goals- January Recap

I knew this was going to be a stressful month, so I do not feel too badly. I passed my exam, and that was honestly the most important thing I could have done this month. So how well did I do on everything else?
  1. Make one scrapbook- nope
  2. Start and finish a sweater- nope, just dreamed about it
  3. Make a color work project- nope
  4. Knit Nana and Grandad socks- nope
  5. Finish or frog all 2010 knitting projects- made good progress on one
  6. Make a felt advent calendar- nope
  7. Work out 111 times- worked out once. Ick! This is definitely going to be my biggest goal in February
  8. Lose 11% of my body weight- about the same
  9. Learn to walk in high heels- wore heeled boots whenever I wasn't walking too far and even managed not to break my neck. A good first step.
  10. Prepare an academic paper for submission to a journal- nope
  11. Read 11 non-school books by different authors- read two books, yay!
February is a short month, and there is a lot going on, but I'm optimistic I can do better this month. How about you? Are you sticking to your 2011 goals and/or resolutions?
